Stevie & Aj's wedding was my last one before I had surgery last month. Stevie and I had only spoken on the phone about one month prior when they booked me for it. They had decided to have a small backyard wedding instead of their initial idea of a large summer wedding. I'm up all for intimate weddings but when she told me it'd be in her in-law's backyard I was immediately giddy for it. I LOVE weddings that take place on the family's property. There is something so intimate and inviting about going to someone's home, rather than a venue, for a couple's wedding. They are always so unique and tell the story in a different way than a venue.
When I pulled up to their family home, I had no idea what to expect. But it was amazing! You can tell setup was a family affair as the ladies were in the garage putting together the florals for the aisle decor and centerpieces. They had recently redone the landscape in the backyard and had it set up with firepits, dinner tables, tiki torches and twinkle lights. All the decor was beautifully put together and the details were carefully thought out for the perfect Autumn backyard wedding. I couldn't have put together a better DIY wedding myself if I tried.
