Kevin & Christina were one of the first couple's to book with me to photograph their wedding. I was offering an insane deal of wedding photography to get things up and running on my own. They reached out to me and basically said they couldn't believe the deal and loved my work so we met and instantly clicked. It was awesome to know that they trusted me with their special day and that they thought my work was worth more than I was charging them. Those are some of things that make a photographer's heart sing. Especially when you have just joined the wedding industry as your own business. Don't get me wrong, I had photographed many weddings before. But I was always working as an intern or with an associate company. So that basically means those companies were getting the bookings and they were hiring me as a freelance photographer, or contractor, to come and take the photos.
They had their gorgeous Downtown Denver wedding at the industrial Mile High Station. It's such a cool venue with unique characteristics. It's a dark venue though so knowing your way around some flash is definitely needed. Also, the space around the venue for romantic bridal portraits is a tad limited. So I'd recommend a day after bridal session or doing a first look at another location that'll give you a bit more to work with as far as scenery goes. You can still find ways to make it work but if you want more then definitely think about other locations like some spots in Downtown Denver or even something super edgy like RiNo Art District.
